Day 1 — Favorite Quote about Lois Lane
“When we first meet her, Lois Lane is already one of the greatest and most famous reporters in the world…she’s just that good, and she’s that good because (as is obvious even to those without X-Ray vision) her Hildy Johnson Front Page smartass attitude is about three angstroms thick, and beneath it is a woman of remarkable compassion.”—Mark Waid’s notes in Birthright
THIS IS ALSO MY FAVORITE LOIS LANE QUOTE.
This blog will be a Lois Lane blog until further notice.
AMEN to that!

“Valkyrie” part 1 of 4! When Lois Lane accepts an assignment outside of Metropolis, she gets more than she bargained for. Follow the Daily Planet’s star reporter to the Congo as she investigates the Angel of the Plateau. It marks the debut of Lana Lang in the Smallville comic!

… guys…
Guys
GUYS
THE HAIR TIES ARE EVEN THE SAME
YOU GUYS
GUYS IT’S BB STEPH
it’s official! Yay!
I swear to gawd, Miller will not be stopped!!!! I simply love this man.
So much love for this man. <3
I love that it’s not just an unspoken cameo, either. She gets to have an actual conversation with Lois, and her personality is spot-on for bb!Steph, too. I love it. :-)
As a longtime Smallville fan, I also have to give Lois major credit for the fact that her skills in interacting with children have improved a LOT since the days of the show. xD
Also, <3 over what Lois says about Clark.
It just hit me, holy crap, what a great time this would be to bring Bryan Q. Miller back to the dcu.
Bryan!
Come write Batgirl again!
I am in love with this woman.
Amen to that, Ms. Simone.
How about you head over to write the new Birds of Prey, starring Oracle (and Helena Bertinelli, Dinah LAUREL Lance, and Zinda Blake), while BQM takes over to write the new Batgirl/Black Bat series starring Steph and Cass? Win-win all around, yes?

“Me saving the one person who’s ever given a real crap about me.”Reading through Steph’s run as Batgirl so there might be some more of these adorable Batfamily moments to come.
I always feel so conflicted when characters make extreme statements like this.
Because on the one hand, this scene is great, and it gives me all the Steph/Babs feels, and Steph’s never had very many people in her corner so I totally get why the fact that Babs believes in her is special.
But on the other hand… the one person who’s ever really cared about her? Really, Steph? Cass never cared about you? Tim never cared about you? Heck, her mother hasn’t always been an amazing support, but can you really say she never cared about Steph?
I mean, it’s still incredibly sweet, but yeah. Calling shenanigans on this whole “one person” thing just a bit.

You know what I love the most about the Batfamily? The most in the world?
I mean, other than the fact that they’re the most amazing, inspirational heroes and they are my fictional babies forever.
It’s that they are a real family. When they’re not out fighting crime, they sit around and they banter and tease each other and they make quips about homework. And I love that. It doesn’t matter that Steph is in full-on Bat-regalia here, she and Babs could be any big sis/little sis duo that you know. They’re just… refreshingly normal, sometimes. Those moments are always my favorites.

Barbara, you liar. Dick is always someone special. No matter who you ask. XD
Aren’t Jim and Babs just the cutest, though?

If you needed another reason to buy Smallville, here it is!
OMG OMG OMG OMG
My first thought: OMG THAT IS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER THANK YOU BRYAN Q. MILLER I LOVE YOU. AHHHHHHHHHHH.
My second thought: Wait, how in the heck does that fit with the timeline? Isn’t this supposed to be Batman very early in his career? Even if Steph is his original sidekick in this universe and not Dick, how can she be old enough to be Nightwing yet?
My third thought: WHY AM I QUIBBLING??? AWESOME!!!
My fourth thought: Eh. It’s STEPH AS NIGHTWING. I am sooo not going to complain about how exactly that works. STEPH. AS. NIGHTWING.
My fifth thought: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

After attending WonderCon, I caught up with Bryan Q. Miller, writer on the popular Smallville television series and the recent run of Batgirl starring Stephanie Brown. He was kind enough to answer a few questions about how he got into writing comics and his upcoming project, the Smallville, Season 11 comic.
BQM: Numbers were never a factor in the whats and whys of the stories I was telling. So, as far as hopes and expectations go, I’m glad that the number of people who liked the book and stayed with the book liked the book and stayed with it. I’m certainly not an expert on sales, to be sure. We definitely had a dedicated, hardcore base for the book, issue after issue.
<3
BQM seems like such a nice guy. I’m really glad he got the Smallville gig. But I wish they could have let him continue Steph’s Batgirl series. She deserved a MUCH longer run IMO.
