Re-blog if you agree: Tumblr should notify you when someone answers your question.

Things Tumblr really needs a function for:

 • Searching through your Liked posts for every post with a specific tag (i.e., all the posts I Liked that are tagged ‘Wonder Woman’ or something)
 • Searching through your messages for every message you received from a specific person
 • Searching through your blog for every post you’ve reblogged from a specific person
 • Searching through another person’s blog for every post they’ve reblogged from you
 • Notification when someone replies to a message that you sent them (even if they neither responded privately nor tagged you in the response - and even if you sent the message on Anon)

I’m sorry, tumblr.

Sometimes you go too far for me.

So, according to tumblr:

If you look at a person of the same gender, you are gay.

If you talk to a person of the same gender, you are gay.

If you touch someone of the same gender (sometimes, even if you are attacking them!) you are gay.

If you engage in any behaviors, hobbies, or clothing choices which are not 100% stereotypical for your gender, you are gay.

If you are hesitant about having sex with someone of the opposite gender, you are gay.

If you are not romantically interested in someone of the opposite gender (even if you are interested in other people of the opposite gender), you are gay.

And let’s not even talk about if you have a close relationship with someone of the same gender. If you show affection, hug them, or joke around? Please. Then you are not only gay, you are so obviously gay that this isn’t even worth discussing.

Friendship? LOL that’s totally not a thing. Isn’t that a myth made up by the Conspiracy of Heteronormatives, or something?

You might think that caring about someone of the same gender in a familial sense would get a pass, but nope. You better freaking HOPE that person is related to you by blood, because if they’re not, nope, sorry, that totally doesn’t count. You’re clearly using this as an excuse to cover up the fact that you are gay. You know, because there’s nothing offensive about that logic at all.

And here’s the clincher. If you disagree with any of these assessments, then you are a heteronormative, homophobic bastard, and you deserve to burn in hell.

I mean, why else could you possibly disagree with that kind of airtight, self-evident logic?

Right.

imagine a world where everyone was assumed gay until they came out as straight

From what I’ve seen, tumblr seems to be inhabited almost exclusively by nerdy, creative, intelligent, liberal LGBQT teens/young adults. Even if you don’t fall into ALL of those categories (I don’t) you will probably fall into most.

Me: I should be doing work right now.

Me: *does work for five minutes*

Me: Hmm, okay, time to go check back on tumblr.

Me: No, NO! Must get back to work!

Me: … Okay, I want ice cream.

I like to think tumblr in Gotham City is a lot like it is here except, you know, the superheroes they’re blogging about are real

And Dick Grayson has his own tumblr, and he reblogs every shipping post in which Nightwing is one of the participants, commenting with stuff like,

“nightwing/flash OTP for real yall. omg so hot i cant”

“asdasjhj this ivy/nightwing/batgirl fic, i didnt realize until just now how much i needed this in my life. new OT3.”

“signal boosting superman/nightwing, anyone got fanart? seriously i’ll give you my firstborns”

None of Dick’s friends know if he’s just trolling or…

Hahahaha oh gosh, this is PERFECT. Dick would soooo do that.

Dick’s tumblr is actually something I have (embarrassingly enough) thought about before, to the point that I actually wrote post speculating about what I thought his rant tags would be. (It was late at night and I was in a weird mood, okay. Also, I still think that Dick’s most-used tag if he had a tumblr would just be “BRUCE!!!!”)

Also, Roy would totally send Dick possibly inappropriate troll messages on anon and Dick would just be like “Okay Roy, I know it’s you,”

And he and Donna send each other gushy-sweet messages for no reason sometimes.

And he totally reblogs anything Timxanyone and is like “reblogging this so Timmy can see it, look Tim, isn’t it soooo hot?” And Tim is just like “SHUT UP, that is so gross, I have no words”. Ah, brothers <3

Haha, I am having way too much fun imagining this. XD

"A quick poll of the room showed that nearly everyone present uses Facebook and Twitter, a majority use Linked In, and a handful use Tumblr and Google . “The static web is dying so fast,” said Green, who thinks within a year or two social media will dominate the Internet. “Tumblr is way better than all of the other ones,” he said."

“Tumblr is way better than all of the other ones.” - John Green, #1 NYT Bestseller!

(via rachelfershleiser)

(For the record, I do think tumblr is way better than all of the other ones, but I do not think social media will dominate the Internet in a year or two. I think social media already dominates the Internet, and in fact when we talk about “the Internet,” 99% of what we’re talking about is social media: wikipedia, youtube, tumblr, yelp, and google are all now social sites.)

There’s over 9 million users on Tumblr now. Reblog if you’re one of the few who’s never EVER left anon hate in somebody’s ask box.

why does this have less than 50,000 notes?

Why does this have less than 9,000,000 notes? Tumblr isn’t for hating.

OMG So proud right now hahaha

Never have, never will. Internet trolling just isn’t my thing.

COMMON TUMBLR BEHAVIOUR BY HOGWARTS HOUSE:

Gryffindor
Gryffindors are often those blogs that you see adding their own commentary to every post they make, original or reblogged. They often do this within the actual post itself, rather than in the tags, because that makes it more clear, and that is what they want. Gryffindors want to be noticed, and they want their opinions shared, and blogging is a very simple way to do that. Gryffindors are also very commonly reblogging about issues they care about, and doing this constantly and without any shame. Their strong values come into play with this, and they are this way not only with real life issues but with fandom. If they love a specific movie, ship, or what have you, they will show it; if you feel the need to bash that thing on their dash, you’ll never hear the end of it. Gryffindors being social, also want to have many followers and recognition. Not necessarily to have the most followers (though they appreciate that a lot, also), but because they enjoy having a large array of people in which to speak with.
Hufflepuff
Not unlike Gryffindors, what you find on the blog of a Hufflepuff will be what you would find in their heart. They are things they care about, issues or things that may seem trivial but have some form of deeper meaning to them. They will often not express this meaning in a direct and blunt form, because they feel uncomfortable doing that. They mostly want their blog to be a welcoming place, and appreciate every follower they get because they feel as though their blog represents all that they enjoy, and through their followers they feel approval. That said, Hufflepuffs don’t pull punches either, and aren’t going to post about things they don’t care for, or vice versa not speak on things they are concerned with. Everything a hufflepuff does is a piece of them, and that includes blogging. Though they may not be quick to socialize with others, if you are to communicate through a hufflepuff via their blog, they will be incredibly friendly and welcoming to you.
Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw bloggers do not often let the ideas and views of others get in their way. Ravenclaws are naturally intellectual artists, and everything which they have is a canvas, including a blog. They may not have the busiest blog at times, because they don’t want to reblog or post everything in sight. If they enjoy it, it makes clear sense to them and they find it stimulating, then they will, but they think it through as they do with everything. They are not shy to give their opinions, but they are often a bit more blunt in this area than would be a Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. They will put their most notable points within a post, and leave the details either unsaid or in the tags. A blog to them is what is important, so they don’t want theirs to be at all trivial. Followers are not a large concern for them, but those that they do have they will treat with consideration and accommodation.
Slytherin
Aside from Gryffindors, many more well known blogs on tumblr are run by bloggers whom are Slytherins. This is due to not only their ambition, but their natural ability to impress. Slytherins are very sure to keep with their own ideas, but they will also glitter them to the fullest extent, making them appealing even to the most hesitant of persons. This makes them have a draw that many others enjoy. Slytherins are as strongly into saying what they think as are Gryffindors, however they are a bit more subtle about it. You will often find snakes with a swarm of tags under their posts, because that is where they would rather vent instead of cover a post with words; this counts even more so if said post is a graphic or photoset. Aesthetics is a very pleasant thing, and this means a Slytherin blogger will often be well organize and have everything looking clean and precise. Slytherins enjoy having plenty of followers because it makes them feel more sure in themselves, though they also have no problem losing some if it is for good reason. They have a hard time sugar coating things, but they still do appreciate those who are kind to them, and try to be as cordial as possible.

This is very interesting and well-thought-out. I think it’s probably pretty accurate, too.
I consider myself a Hufflepuff and that definitely describes my blog, although I do have the Gryffindor habit of adding comments to whatever I reblog, often just a few lines but sometimes entire mini-essays. In my case, though, I think it has less to do with me being a very bold and outspoken person (though I can be that way sometimes), and more to do with the fact that I’m extremely talkative and don’t know when to shut up XD.

Sometimes I wonder…

… if in the future, the internet will be viewed like one of those really strong drugs, that people used to use all the time before they found out how addictive they were.

Like, can’t you just picture it?

"Wow, Mom, back when Grandma was a teenager, she did recreational internet?"

"Shhh, sweetie, they didn’t know how addictive it was back then! Everyone was doing it!"
